Black Cat in Kap Arkona

The view of black cats being favorable creatures is attributed specifically to the Egyptian goddess Bast, the cat goddess. Egyptian households believed they could gain favor from Bastet by hosting black cats in their household. This view was held in the early 17th Century by the English monarch Charles I. Upon the death of his treasured pet black cat, he is said to have lamented that his luck was gone. True to his claim, he was arrested the very next day and charged with high treason.

Sassnitz - The Lighthouse of Kap Arkona

Lighthouses are cool...and there were two in Kap Arkona. There were also a lot of sparrows.

CGI in Game of Thrones

Have you ever watched a TV show or a movie and whilst the end credits were scrolling you say the names of those responsible for the CGI and thought "Hang on, I didn't see any CGI"...or is that just me?

This video shows you how CGI was used in Game of Thrones season one to create some of the elaborate sets, battle scenes and crowds. It seems that there is not a lot you cannot do with CGI now and make it look very very realistic.

Sassnitz - A Day out in Binz
